Praveer Ranjan appointed as new DGP of UT Chandigarh

The Government of India on Wednesday transferred Praveer Ranjan (IPS:1993:AGMUT) from Delhi and posted him as DGP, UT Chandigarh. He has been posted as Chandigarh DGP with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and until further order. He was previously posted in Delhi as Special Police Commissioner and likely to join next week.

He will be replacing Sanjay Baniwal (IPS:1989:AGMUT), who had joined Chandigarh Police on June 28, 2018, on a deputation of two years. In September last year, he was promoted to DGP grade . Baniwal’s order of posting is yet to be issued.
