Pradip Kumar Das gets extension as CMD of IREDA beyond May 5

The government has extended the tenure of IREDA CMD Pradip Kumar Das beyond May 5, 2025, until further orders, recognizing his leadership in boosting the agency’s role in India’s renewable energy push.

Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), will continue in his role beyond the completion of his five-year term on May 5, 2025.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on May 1 announced the extension of his tenure, stating that it will remain in effect from May 6, 2025, until further orders.

IREDA also notified the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited through a regulatory filing on the same day, formalizing the government’s decision.

Das, who took charge of IREDA in 2020, has played a key role in driving the agency’s mission to support India’s clean energy transition. Under his leadership, IREDA has witnessed substantial operational and financial growth, solidifying its status as a critical lender and facilitator in the country’s renewable energy ecosystem
