An adviser to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amarjeet Sinha (Retd.IAS:1983:BH), has resigned from his post seven months ahead of his two-year tenure in the highest public office of the country.
Top sources in the government confirmed his resignation from the high profile post and did not mention any reason for the development.
Mr. Sinha, who superannuated as Rural Development Secretary in 2019, was appointed as advisor along with another key officer Bhaskar Khulbe (Retd.IAS:1983:WB) in the PMO in February 2020 on a contractual basis initially for a period of two years. He was tasked with handling social sector-related subjects.
