PESB finds no suitable candidate for BCPL MD post after interviewing nine applicants; Ministry advised to consider fresh selection options.

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has failed to find a suitable candidate for the post of Managing Director, Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited at a selection meeting held on December 11, 2025.

The PESB interviewed nine candidates for the job following which it did not recommend any candidate for the post and advised the Administrative Ministry or Department to choose an appropriate course of action for selection, including through a search-cum-selection committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority.

The post has been vacant since October 1, 2024, and applications were invited on July 25, 2025. Currently, Srikumar Ghose Choudhury, who has been Director (Finance) since June 2023, is holding MD charge since May 2025.

During the selection meeting, the following candidates were interviewed:

  1. Sunil Kumar Nagdawne, General Manager (Aviation) WR, Indian Oil Corporation Limited
  2. GR Pugalendhi, Executive Director, Electrical & Engineering Division, Andrew Yule & Company Limited
  3. Anil Kumar Singh, General Manager (Commercial), Steel Authority Of India Limited
  4. Goutam Das, General Manager Project &Technical Department, National Aluminium Company Limited
  5. Chhatrashal Singh Rathore, Deputy General Manager (Design and Engineering), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited
  6. Prem Prakash Keshari, Deputy General Manager (Finance), NTPC Limited
  7. Ravi Kumar Srivastava, Chief Manager, Impex & shipping, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited
  8. Rabindra Kumar Singh, Chief Manager (Corporate Planning/Corporate Communication), MSTC Limited
  9. Dr Jaideep Dutta, Chief Manager Staff Officer Project & Planning Hasdeo Area, South Eastern Coalfields Limited
