PC Mody continues as Secretary General of Rajya Sabha

The Chairman of Rajya Sabha has extended the tenure of Pramod Chandra Mody (Retd. IRS-IT: 1982) as Secretary General of Rajya Sabha up to December 31, 2025. This is his second extension.

Initially, Mody was appointed Secretary General on November 12, 2021, on a contractual basis, with a tenure lasting until August 10, 2022, or until further orders. Subsequently, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat issued an order on August 27, 2022, extending his tenure until December 31, 2024. Now, the Chairman of Rajya Sabha has approved one-year extension, continuing his term until December 31, 2025.
