Pawan Kumar (ICoAS: 1992) on Thursday assumed the position of Chief Adviser (Cost) in the Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance. Before taking on this role, Kumar served as the Additional Chief Adviser (Cost).

With a background as a qualified Cost Accountant, Kumar brings a wealth of experience gained in various capacities across different Ministries/Departments and autonomous bodies. His professional journey has included roles at entities such as the Tariff Commission, Delhi Development Authority, Director General of Trade Remedies, the Department of Economic Affairs, and the Department of Public Enterprises.

Notably, Kumar played a crucial role in the development of a web-based Online Dashboard for performance evaluation of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) within the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance. This innovative initiative received the prestigious ‘Gold Award’ in the ‘e-Governance’ category in 2022, conferred by a leading think tank. His diverse expertise and contributions underscore his commitment to enhancing efficiency and transparency in financial governance and administration.
