New Delhi: The central deputation tenure of Parveen Kumar Thind (IAS:2007:PB), serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, has been extended by two years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment to extend Thind deputation tenure for two years beyond March 1, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Thind initially joined the Department as Director on March 1, 2022, for a period of five years. He was later elevated to the post of Joint Secretary in the Department.
With the latest extension, Thind will continue on central deputation in the Department until March 1, 2029, subject to further orders.
