Pankaj Kumar Singh (IPS:2008:AGMUT) has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) through a lateral shift basis, entailing a cumulative tenure of five years, effective until December 5, 2026, from the date of his assumption of the position or until further instructions, whichever occurs earlier. Currently serving as Director in the Department of Youth Affairs under the central staffing scheme, Mr. Singh’s tenure in this role has been shortened to enable him to embark on his new assignment with the CBI.
