The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday approved the continuation of Pankaj Kumar in the newly created post of Director (Production), ONGC, after the merger of two Board-level posts, Director (Offshore) and Director (Onshore). Until he retires on 30.06.2026, he will remain in the position with effect from 01.03.2023. Since September 2021, Pankaj Kumar has been Director (Offshore), ONGC.
The post of Director (Production), ONGC was created after the merger of the posts of Director (Onshore) and Director (Offshore), making Kumar the first Director (Production), ONGC.
It may be noted that the Government of India had in December 2022 announced the restructuring of the ONGC Board. Two new positions were created as part of the restructuring, namely Director (Production) and Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs). Director (Production) was created by merging Director (Offshore) and Director (Onshore).
