Abhas Katra Singh (IPoS:2012), who was serving as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (March 20, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his repatriation on personal grounds, along with an extended cooling-off provision.
Singh had assumed charge as OSD in the last week of July 2024. His tenure was originally scheduled to continue till September 2026.
However, he has now been relieved prematurely and sent back to his parent cadre.
