Odisha govt transfers six IPS officers; Satyabrat Bhoi is new IG, Intelligence

Odisha government transfers six IPS officers, including Himansu Kumar Lal, Satyabrat Bhoi, Jai Narayan Pankaj and Niti Sekhar, with new postings.

The Odisha government on Friday (August 21, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for six IPS officers across the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

Himansu Kumar Lal (IPS:2003), IG of Police, Northern Range, Sambalpur, has been transferred and posted as IG of Police, EOW, BBSR & STF.
Satyabrat Bhoi (IPS:2004), IG of Police, NCR, Talcher, with additional charge of Principal, PTC, Angul, has been transferred and posted as IG of Police, Intelligence.
Jai Narayan Pankaj (IPS:2005), IG of Police, Intelligence, Bhubaneswar, has been transferred and posted as IG of Police, Southern Range, Berhampur.
Niti Shekhar (IPS:2007), IG of Police, Southern Range, Berhampur, has been transferred and posted as IG of Police (Provisioning), SP Headquarters.
Charan Singh Meena (IPS:2009), DIG of Police, Provisioning, has been transferred and posted as DIG of Police, Northern Range, Sambalpur.
Ashish Kumar Singh (IPS:2010), who joined the Home Department after repatriation from Central Deputation, has been posted as DIG of Police, NCR, Talcher, with additional charge of Principal, PTC, Angul.
