Odisha: Nikunja Bihari Dhal appointed as Special Relief Commissioner

The Odisha government on Tuesday (28.02.2023) appointed senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal (IAS:1993:OR) as Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) of the State. His appointment has been made after the outgoing SRC Pradeep Jena (IAS:1989:OR) was elevated to the post of Chief Secretary recently.

Dhal, who is Additional Chief Secretary, Energy department, with the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary; Excise; Chairman, GRIDCO, and Chairman of Odisha State Beverages Corporation Ltd; has been allowed to remain as the Special Relief Commissioner and Managing Director State Disaster Management Authority in addition to his other responsibilities.
