Odisha: Manoj Ahuja appointed new Chief Secretary

Senior IAS officer Manoj Ahuja (IAS:1990:OR) has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha. Ahuja will succeed the incumbent Pradeep Kumar Jena (IAS:1989:OR), who is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2024.

Senior IAS officer Manoj Ahuja (IAS:1990:OR) has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha. Ahuja will succeed the incumbent Pradeep Kumar Jena (IAS:1989:OR), who is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2024.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on June 25 approved Ahuja’s repatriation to his parent cadre Odisha at the request of the Odisha government.

Ahuja, who is due to superannuate in December 2024, is likely to receive an extension from both the State and Central governments.

Ahuja was serving on Central deputation as Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare since April 1, 2022. Prior to this role, he served as OSD in the same department, Chairman of CBSE, and Special Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie. He has held various key positions in the Odisha government, including Sub-Collector, and Secretary in departments such as Food & Civil Supplies, Steel & Mines, Sports & Youth Services, and Cooperation.
