The Odisha government on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) ordered a key reshuffle in the state’s police administration, involving several senior IPS officers.
Sanjeeb Panda (IPS:1994:OR), currently serving as ADG, Training and Director at Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), has been transferred and posted as ADG, Anti-Naxal Operations. In his new role, Panda will oversee both the Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) and Anti-Naxal Operations and will report directly to the Director General & Inspector General of Police, Odisha.
In a related change, Anup Kumar Sahoo (IPS:2004:OR), IGP, Training at BPSPA, will remain in charge of Director, BPSPA until further orders.
Additionally, Akhileshvar Singh (IPS:2009:OR), currently DIG of Police, SWR, Koraput, has been posted as DIG, Special Intelligence Wing (SIW), Bhubaneswar. Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh (IPS:2010:OR), who is presently DIG, SIW, Bhubaneswar, has been posted as DIG, SWR, Koraput, in a reciprocal move.
