The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has failed to find suitable candidate for the post of Managing Director, Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL), at a selection meeting held on September 20, 2019. The PESB interviewed nine candidates for the job following which it announced that the administrative ministry/department might choose an appropriate course of action for selection.
The following 09 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting :

- Sanjeev Agrawal, Chief General Manager, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
- A T Kabilan, General Manager, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited
- Atul Kumar Singh, General Manager, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited
- Hridesh Baindail, Executive Director, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
- Anand Kumar Singh, Executive Director, Indian Railways Service of Engineers
