NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has successfully signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with GRIDCO Limited in Bhubaneswar. This significant agreement encompasses 400MW in Stage-1 and 400 MW in Stage-2 of NLCIL’s proposed Neyveli Talabira Super Critical Thermal Power Station (NTTPP) in the state of Odisha. With the formalization of this agreement, NLCIL has secured the full 2400 MW capacity of Neyveli Talabira Super Critical Thermal Power Station Stage-I.
The signing ceremony, attended by key stakeholders, including M. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NLC India Ltd, Shri Trilochan Panda, Managing Director of GRIDCO Limited, and Gagan Bihari Swain, Director (F&CA) of GRIDCO Limited, witnessed the official signing of the Power Purchase Agreement. Representing NLCIL was M Venkatachalam, Director/Power, and representing GRIDCO Limited was Umakanta Sahoo, Director (T&BD).
NLCIL has previously entered similar agreements with Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Pondicherry, securing 1,500 MW, 400 MW, and 100 MW of power supply, respectively, from Neyveli Talabira Super Critical Thermal Power Station Stage-I. In this latest development, NLCIL has tied up an additional 400 MW of capacity with GRIDCO Odisha as part of the second phase of the 1×800 MW capacity of NTTPP.
