The central government has given senior IAS officer Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS:1991:UP) the additional responsibility of Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare. She is currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (July 11, 2025), Ms. Verma will hold the additional charge from July 12 to August 3, 2025. The arrangement has been made during the leave period of Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS:1993:AGMUT), the regular Health Secretary.
Ms. Verma is a senior officer of the 1991 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre and has held several key positions in both the state and central governments during her career.
