Senior IAS officer Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS:1991:UP), Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions & Pensioners’ Welfare, has been assigned additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (June 25, 2026), the competent authority has approved assignment of the additional charge upon relinquishment of the post by Sanjay Jaju (IAS:1992:TG). She will hold the additional charge till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, Jaju was recently repatriated to his parent cadre, Telangana, on the request of the state government and is likely to be appointed as the next Chief Secretary, succeeding K Ramakrishna Rao (IAS:1988:TG), whose extended tenure is scheduled to end on June 30.
