Nitin Jain re-designated as Director in Ministry of Steel

Nitin Jain (IRS-C&IT:2011), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, has been re-designated as Director. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (20.12.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Jain’s post to Director level with effect from January 1, 2025, or the date he assumes charge of the post, whichever is later and for a period upto 15.03.2026 i.e. combained tenure of five years at ex-cadre deputation and central staffing scheme posts put together.

It is noteworthy that Nitin Jain embarked on his central deputation tenure on March 16, 2021.
