Nila Mohanan (IAS:2007:AGMUT), Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, has been granted a two-year extension on central deputation. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (September 4, 2025), the competent authority approved the Cabinet Secretariat’s proposal to extend her tenure beyond October 4, 2025, for two years or until further orders.
Mohanan has been serving in the Cabinet Secretariat since August 2024, following her transfer from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), where she worked as Joint Secretary.
She has been on central deputation since October 5, 2020, when she assumed charge as Deputy Secretary in the DoPT. During this period, she was redesignated as Director and, in June 2023, empanelled as Joint Secretary before being appointed Joint Secretary in DoPT.
