Narain SN (IRTS:2011) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism Suresh Gopi. His appointment is specifically pertains to Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. As a result of this appointment, his current tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Biotechnology has been curtailed.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (13.07.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal to appoint Narain SN to the post of Private Secretary, effective from the date he assumes charge.
His tenure will last until December 27, 2026 (i.e. combined tenure of six years on CSS & PS posts put togather) or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
