Nagaland: T John Longkumer sworn in as State Election Commissioner

On Thursday, T John Longkumer (IPS:1991:CG) assumed the position of State Election Commissioner (SEC) of Nagaland. The oath-taking ceremony transpired at the conference hall of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima. Kenilo Apon, Commissioner and Secretary of Urban and Municipal Affairs, presided over the proceedings, and Jay Alam, Chief Secretary of Nagaland, administered the oath of office.

John Longkumer was officially appointed to this esteemed role on January 30. Prior to undertaking the responsibilities of the State Election Commissioner in Nagaland, Longkumer held the position of Director General of Nagaland Police, serving in that capacity until his retirement in January 2023.
