Senior IAS officer N Saravana Kumar (IAS:2000:BH) assumed charge as the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on May 1, 2025. His appointment was part of a significant reshuffle announced on April 18, in which 25 senior officers were assigned new responsibilities at the Additional Secretary level.

Before joining the DDA, Kumar served as Principal Secretary in Bihar’s Department of Food and Consumer Protection. Kumar brings over 24 years of administrative experience, having worked in key sectors such as communications, education, rural development, agriculture, and food and consumer protection.

He also has nearly a decade of experience as District Magistrate in several districts of Bihar, including Patna, and was commended by the state government for his work in disaster management during flood crises.

Kumar’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the DDA, as the agency is in the final stages of framing the Delhi Master Plan 2041, a comprehensive roadmap for the capital’s urban development over the next two decades.
