MP: 8 IPS officers shifted, Rakesh Gupta appointed OSD to CM

The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday (22.10.2024) transfer and posting orders for 8 IPS officers. The most significant change was Indore Police Commissioner Rakesh Gupta’s transfer to the Chief Minister’s Office as Officer on Special Duty, with Santosh Kumar Singh appointed as the new Police Commissioner.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Umesh Joga (IPS:1997:MP), ADGP/Additional Transport Commissioner (Enforcement), Gwalior, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, Ujjain Zone, Ujjain.
  2. Rakesh Gupta (IPS:1999:MP), ADGP/Police Commissioner, Indore, has been transferred and posted as ADGP/OSD to Chief Minister.
  3. Santosh Kumar Singh (IPS:2000:MP), IGP, Ujjain Zone, Ujjain, has been transferred and posted as IGP/Police Commissioner, Indore.
  4. Aditya Pratap Singh (IPS:2011:MP), SP, Jabalpur, has been transferred and posted as Assistant IG, PHQ, Bhopal.
  5. Jagdish Dabar (IPS:2012:MP), DCP, Hqrs, Indore, has been transferred and posted as SP, Badwani.
  6. Sampat Upadhyay (IPS:2013:MP), SP, Devas, has been transferred and posted as SP, Jabalpur.
  7. Punit Gehlot (IAS:2017:MP), SP, Badwani, has been transferred and posted as SP, Dewas.
  8. Ankit Soni (IPS:2017:MP), DCP, Intelligence & Security, Indore, has been given additional charge of DCP (Hqrs), Indore.
