Modi govt makes key appointments in ONGC, MDSL, and NFL

These appointments include leadership roles in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL), and National Fertilizers Limited (NFL).

In a significant development, the Modi government announced three key appointments in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) on March 5. These appointments include leadership roles in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL), and National Fertilizers Limited (NFL).

Vikram Saxena, currently serving as Group General Manager at ONGC, has been appointed as Director (Technology & Field Services). He will hold the position until his retirement on July 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on December 2, following an interview process involving 10 candidates.

Additionally, Ruchir Agrawal, Executive Director at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), has been appointed as Director (Finance) at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL) for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The third appointment is that of Mahesh Chander Gupta, currently serving as Chief General Manager (Business Development). He has been appointed as Director (Technical) at National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) until his retirement on September 30, 2027, or until further orders. PESB had recommended his name for the position on September 5, 2024, after interviewing 10 candidates.
