In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Modi government has cleared the appointment of 43 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments. This reshuffle includes fresh appointments on lateral shift basis whereas many of them prematurely repatriated to parent cadre.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:
- Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla (IAS:1995:BH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. She replaces Vivek Aggarwal (IAS:1994:MP).
- Priya Ranjan (IFS:1998:RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. He replaces Atish Chandra (IAS:1994:BH)
- Pramod Kumar Meherda (IAS:1997:OD) has been appointed as Managing Director, National Food Security Mission (NFSM) under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. He is also assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Neeraja Adidam (IFS:1990:UP).
- Abhay Kumar Singh (IAS:2004:BH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation for a combined tenure of seven years upto 30.08.2022.
- Ms Kavita Garg (IDAS:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH for a tenure of five years vice P N Ranjit Kumar (IPoS:1993).
- Ms. Kavita Singh (IAS:2004:PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for an overall tenure of five years upto 15.03.2025.
- Vibhu Nayar (IAS:1990:TN) has been appointed as Executive Director, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) under the Department of Commerce for a tenure upto 31.10.2025. He replaces Rajesh Agarwal (IAS:1994:MN).
- Madnesh Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT:1990) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a combined tenure of seven years upto 31.05.2023 vice Ms. Nirupama Kotru (IRS-IT:1992).
- Dinesh Kumar (IAS:2004:NL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for an overall tenure of five years upto 06.12.2025 vice Ms. Nidhi Chhibber (IAS:1994:CG).
- Sanjay Kumar (IA&AS:1995) has been appointed as Additional FA & Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Finance) for a tenure of five years. He replaces AN Das (IDAS:1991).
- Vedveer Arya (IDAS:1997) has been appointed as Additional FA & Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Finance) for a tenure of five years vice Subir Mallick (IA&AS:1989).
- Peeyush Kumar (IAS:1997:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Sandhya Bhullar (IAS:2003:GJ).
- Sreekanth T (IAS:2004:AGMUT) has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India for an overall tenure of five years upto 25.06.2023.
- Shailendra Singh (IFS:1997:TR) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG), UIDAI, HQ, New Delhi under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years vice Laxmi P. Rao Yarram (IFS:1986:MH).
- Ms. P Bhanumati (ISS:1996) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG), UIDAI, RO, New Delhi under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years. She replaces Pradeep Kumar (IFoS:1995:SK).
- Neelesh Kumar Sah (IA&AS:1997) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) for a tenure of five years vice Ms Richa Sharma (IAS:1994:CG).
- Ms. Neeraja Adidam (IFS:1990:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fertilizers for a combined tenure of seven years upto 28.07.2023 vice Partha Sarthi Sensharma (IAS:1994:UP).
- Partha Sarathi Das (IA&AS:1994) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for a tenure of five years vice EK Majhi (IAS:1989:KL).
- Ms. Vandana Jain (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure of five years vice Sunil Sharma (IRPS:1985).
- Ms. V Hekali Zhimomi (IAS:1996:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure of five years. She replaces Ms. Rekha Shukla (IRS-IT:1989).
- Purnendu Kishore Banerjee (ISS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education for a tenure of five years vice Sanjay Kumar Sinha (IFS:1993:JK).
- CG Rajini Kaanthan (IAS:2004:HY) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, for an overall tenure of five years upto 08.11.2021 vice Satyendra Garg, (IPS:1987:AGMUT).
- Ms. Sreyashi Chaudhuri (CSS) has been appointed as Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under Ministry of Home Affairs for a tenure of five years. She replaces Sandeep Poundrik (IAS:1993:BH).
- Kunal Satyarthi (IFS:1997:HP) has been appointed as Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs for a combined tenure of seven years ending 04.02.2026 vice Ramesh K Gantha (lAS:1993:PB).
- Dhananjay Kumar (IDAS:1993) has been appointed as Director (Finance), NSG-Cum-Financial Advisor, CRPF under MHA for a combined tenure of seven years upto 31.07.2024. He replaces Sanjeev Mishra (ICAS:1988).
- Ms. Roopa Mishra (IAS:2004:OD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 02.02.2025 vice Vinod Kumar Jindal (ICoAS:1988).
- Pankaj Kumar Singh (IDAS:1994) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a tenure of five vice Manish Thakur (IAS:1998:AM).
- Ms. Mercy Epao (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises for a tenure of five years. She replace Sudhir Garg (IRSEE:1986).
- Srinivas Danda (IRS-IT:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs for a tenure of five years vice S K Dev Verman (IAS:1988:MN).
- KS Rejimon (ISS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, NITI Aayog for a tenure of five years vice Jitendra Kumar (IFS:1987:AGMUT).
- Kundan Kumar (IAS:2004:BH) has been appointed as Adviser, NITI Aayog for a combined tenure of eight years upto 03.02.2023. He replaces Parag Gupta (IAS:1988:OD).
- Ajay Kumar Kanojia (CSS) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) under the Department of Personnel & Training for a tenure up to his superannuation on 30.06.2026. He replaces Atul Singh (IPS:1995:AP).
- Ms. Radhika Rastogi (IAS:1995:MH) has been appointed as Joint Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) under DoPT for an overall tenure of five years upto 27.03.2023. She replaces Manoj Ahuja (IAS:1990:OD).
- Raghuraj Madhav Rajendran (IAS:2004:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power for an overall tenure of five years upto 30.11.2022 vice Vivek Kumar Dewangan (IAS:1993:MN).
- Vishal Kapoor (IRSME:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power for a combined tenure of seven years upto 09.09.2022 vice Tanmay Kumar (IAS:1993:RJ).
- Ms. Shruti Singh (IAS:2004:PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for an overall tenure of five years upto 18.03.2023.
- S K Jha (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue for a tenure of five years Vice Sudhir Kumar (CSS).
- Karma Zimpa Bhutia (IFS:1997:JH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development for a combined tenure of seven years upto 24.04.2024. He replaces Prashant Kumar (IFS:1985:MP).
- Amit Kataria (IAS:2004:CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development for an overall tenure of five years upto 02.07.2022. He replaces Ms. Leena John (IAS:1994:UP).
- Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh (IP&TA&FS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a combined tenure of seven years upto 03.09.2023 vice Ms Smita S Chaudhri (IA&AS:1990).
- Rakesh Gupta (IAS:1997:HY) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development for a tenure of five years vice L K Meena (CSS).
- Ms. Tripti Gurha (IRTS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development for a tenure of five years. She replaces Ms Aastha Saxena Khatwani (ICAS:1991) who prematurely repatriates to cadre.
- Nitesh Kumar Mishra (ICAS:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs for a tenure of five years. He replaces Asit Singh (IRS-IT:1990) who prematurely repatriates to cadre.
- Ms. Seema Sharma (IRTS:1994) has been prematurely repatriated to parent cadre. Presently, she is serving as CVO, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
- Dr Nipun Vinayak (IAS:2001:MH) has been prematurely repatriated to parent cadre. Presently, he is serving as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare.
