Modi govt effects major bureaucratic reshuffle at Additional Secretary level

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet, on Wednesday, cleared the appointment and reshuffle of Additional Secretary level posts in various departments and ministries. This list includes 16 IAS officers and an ISS officer from various batches (1985,1988,1989,1990,and 1991).

The name of the officers and their postings are as follows :

1. Ms. T. Rajeshwari (ISS:1985) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Presently, she is serving as Additional Secretary, D/o Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
2. Arvind Singh (IAS:1988:MH) has been appointed as Chairman, Airports Authority of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Presently, he is posted in the cadre.
3. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu (IAS:1988:UK) has been appointed as Chairman, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary by temporarily downgrading the post against the vacancy caused due to appointment of Nagendra Nath Sinha (IAS:1987:JH)) as Secretary, Department of Border Management. Presently, he is posted as Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
4. Rakesh Sarwal (IAS:1988:TR) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development vice Sukhbir Singh Sandhu (IAS:1988:UK) on his appointment as Chairman, National Highways Authority of India. Presently, he is posted as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
5. Ashish Upadhyay (IAS:1989:MP), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Power by temporarily upgrading the vacant post of Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry.
6. K. Sanjay Murthy (IAS:1989:HP) has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, Ministry of Commerce & Industry in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post. Presently, he is Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
7. Keshav Kumar Pathak (IAS:1990:BH) has been appointed as Managing Director, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL). Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
8. Ganji Kamala V. Rao (IAS:1990:KL) has been appointed as CMD, India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ITDC). Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
9. K. Moses Chalai (IAS:1990:MN) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, North Eastern Council Secretariat (Ministry of DONER). Presently, he is Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development.
10. S Gopalakrishnan (IAS:1991:TN) has been appointed (In-situ) as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Presently, he is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT.
11. Pramod Kumar Tiwari (IAS:1991:AM) has been appointed as DG, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the rank & pay of Additional Secretary. Presently, he is Joint Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution.
12. Ms. Debashri Mukherjee (IAS:1991:UT) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. Presently, she is Joint Secretary in PMO.
13. Amit Yadav (IAS:1991:UT) has been appointed as DG, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Presently, he is Joint Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.
14. Ms. Rachna Shah (IAS:1991:KL) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat vice Rajesh Bhushan (IAS:1987:BH) who was yesterday appointed Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat. Presently, she is Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat.
15. B. Srinivas (IAS:1991:KL) has been appointed as MD, National Horticulture Board, Department of Agriculture in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Presently, he is Joint Secretary, M/o MSME.
16. Satya Brata Sahu (IAS:1991:OR) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development. Presently he is Director (JS level), NHIDCL. Presently, he is Director, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
17. Vijayendra (IAS:1991:AM) has been appointed as CMD , National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Presently, he is Joint Secretary, Department of Defence Production.
