Modi govt effects major bureaucratic reshuffle, 43 officers get new responsibilities

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Modi government has cleared the appointment of over 43 officers to the post of Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in various ministries and departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Ms. Geetha Meetina (IAS:1997:CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. She replaces Rajbir S. Panwar (IFS:1991:GJ).
  2. Rajbir S Panwar (IFS:1991:GJ) has been appointed as Managing Director (JS level), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 30.04.2023. He replaces Sanjeev K Chadha (IFS:1989:OR).
  3. Satyendra Singh (IFS:1986:AM) has been appointed as Managing Director (JS level), National Horticulture Board (NHB), Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years or up to the date of his superannuation on 28.02.2027. He replaces B Srinivas (IAS:1991:KL).
  4. Chaitanya Murti (IFS:1995:TR) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Bio-Technology for a tenure of five years in place of Chandra Prakash Goyal (IFS:1986:UP).
  5. Srikant Nagulapalli (IAS:1998:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure of five years in place of Pankaj Agrawal (IAS:1992:MP).
  6. Puneet Kansal (IAS:1996:SK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat by temporarily downgrading the post of Additional Secretary to Joint Secretary level. His tenure will be for an overall tenure of five years up to 26.04.2023 and further extendable for additional two years upto 26.04.2025 subject to cadre clearance. He replaces Alkesh K. Sharma (IAS:1990:KL)
  7. M Balaji (IAS:2005:TN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of five years up to 15.09.2024 in place of S Suresh Kumar (IAS:2000:AP).
  8. Krishan Kumar (IAS:2002:OR) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce for a tenure of five years vice Shyamal Misra (IAS:1996:HY).
  9. Inderdeep Singh Dhariwal (IA&AS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 31 .07.2026. He replaces Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh (IP&TA&FS:1992).
  10. Harpreet Singh (IPoS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER), for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 31.12.2026 in place of Indevar Pandey (IAS:1988:WB).
  11. Rajesh Singh (IPoS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years. He replaces Ms. Jyoti Arora (IAS:1987:HY).
  12. Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu (IAS:1997:UD) has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (JS level), MyGov, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years. He replaces Abhishek Singh (IAS:1995:NL).
  13. Abhishek Singh (IAS:1995:NL) has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, vice M Srinivas Rao (IAS:1987:AM) by temporarily upgrading the post to Additional Secretary level. Singh will continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Digital India Corporation.
  14. Vivek Chandra Verma (IOFS:1991) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (JS level), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Headquarters, New Delhi under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, for a tenure of five years.
  15. Rajeev Sharma (IFS:1998:WB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for a tenure of five years in place of Ms Tarika Roy (IRAS:1997).
  16. Rajesh Kumar Yadav (IAS:1996:RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for a tenure of five years. He replaces Prabodh Seth (IRS-IT:1989).
  17. Amit Singh Negi (IAS:1999:UD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Expenditure for a tenure of five years in place of Rajeev Ranjan (IAS:1989:MP).
  18. Manoj Sahay (IA&AS:1994) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Department of Expenditure for an overall tenure of five years up to 29.01.2025 vice Ms Meera Swarup (IA&AS:1988).
  19. Pankaj Sharma (ICAS:2000) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services for a combined tenure of seven years up to 31.12.2024 vice Amit Agrawal (IAS:1993:CG).
  20. Sanoj K Jha (IAS:1997:SK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries for a combined tenure of seven years up to 02.04.2024 vice Ms Reema Prakash (IA&AS:1991).
  21. Ghayas Uddin Ahmed (IDAS:2000) has been appointed as Financial Adviser (JS level), National Health Authority, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 31.10.2026 in place of Ms Geetali Tare (IA&AS:1992).
  22. R Ramakrishnan (IAS:1998:NL) has been appointed as Senior Deputy Director General (Admn) (JS level), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research, for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 28.02.2025 in place of G S G Ayyangar (IAS:1997:TR).
  23. Vijay Mittal (IOFS:1991) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries for a tenure of five years in place of Jeetendra Singh (IRSEE:1993).
  24. Harsh Gupta (IAS:1997:KN) has been appointed as Project Director (JS level), National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP), National Disaster Management Authority under the Ministry of Home Affairs for a tenure of five years in place of Pradeep Kumar (IAS:1987:KL).
  25. Ms G Madhumita Das (IPoS:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Labour & Employment for a tenure of five years vice Ms Sibani Swain (IES:1986).
  26. Ms Tiakala Lynda Yaden (IP&TA&FS:1994) has been appointed as Financial Commissioner (JS level), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for a tenure of five years in place of Ms Sandhya Shukla (IA&AS:1991).
  27. Lalit Bohra (IRTS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) for a tenure of five years in palce of Bhanu Pratap Yadav (IA&AS:1992).
  28. Navin Agarwal (IRPS:1997) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Office of Lokpal, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for a tenure of five years in place of Dilip Kumar (IAS:1995:PB).
  29. Ms Vinakshi Gupta (IDAS:1992) has been appointed as Additional Secretary (JS level), Union Public Service Commission, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for a tenure of five years in place of R K Sinha, (IDAS:1991).
  30. Ms Esha Srivastava (IFS:2004) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (JS level), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for an overall tenure of five years up to 19.03.2024 vice BN Reddy (IFS:1993).
  31. Raman Chopra (IRS-IT:1993) has been appointed as Director (JS level), National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) under Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for a tenure of five years in place of Manoj Sahay (IA&AS:1994).
  32. Ms. Smriti Sharan (IPoS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development for a tenure of five years vice Ashish Kumar Goel (IAS:1995:UP).
  33. Mahendra Kumar Gupta (IRPS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Scientific & Industrial Research for a tenure of five years in place of KR Vaidheeswaran (CSS).
  34. Krishna Kumar Dwivedi (IAS:1996:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for a tenure of five years in place of Ms Juthika Patankar (IAS:1988:UP).
  35. Subramanyam Manchikanti (IRS-C&IT:1991) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Space for an overall tenure of five years up to 19.03.2025 against a newly created post.
  36. Kunal (IAS:2005:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Sports for a tenure of five years in place of Atul Singh (IPS:1995:AP), who was prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
  37. Abhijit Narendra (IRTS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 30.09.2026 in place of Puneet Kansal (IAS:1996:SK).
  38. Anand Singh (IAS:2000:KL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Telecommunications for a period of five years in place of Navneet Gupta (lA&AS:1997).
  39. Asit Gopal (IFS:1990:MP) has been appointed as Commissioner (JS level), Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), National Educational Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) (JS level), Ministry of Tribal Affairs for an overall tenure of five years up to 25.08.2024.
  40. Ms Richa Misra (IDAS:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation for an overall tenure of five years up to 25.03.2023 extendable up to the period spent in NDC course or until further orders. She replaces Jagmohan Gupta (IRAS:1987).
  41. Satya Prakash Vashishth (IFS:1994:AM) has been appointed Executive Director (Admin) (JS level), National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 30.06.2026 in place of Rajiv Kishore (IRPS:1988).
  42. Bhaskar Dasgupta (CSS) has been appointed as Executive Director (Finance) (JS level), National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure of five years in place of Rozy Agarwal (IDAS:1994).
  43. Ms Indra Mallo (IAS:1999:MH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Women & Child Development for a tenure of five years in place of Ashish Srivastava (IAS:1992:MP).
