Modi govt clears appointments for various Foreign and Captive posts

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday (03.06.2024) approved the appointments of a number of officers for filling up of various Foreign and Captive posts of the Government of India.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday (03.06.2024) approved the appointments of a number of officers for filling up of various Foreign and Captive posts of the Government of India.

They are;

  1. Ashutosh Jindal (IAS:1995:TR) has been appointed to the post of Minister (Economic) in the Economic Wing, Embassy of India, Washington DC, USA, under D/o Economic Affairs for three years. As a result of this appointment, his tenure as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat has been curtailed. He will replace Ravi Kota (IAS:1993:AM).
  2. Nikunj Kumar Srivastava (IAS:1998:MP) has been appointed to the post of Senior Adviser to the Executive Director, World Bank, Washington DC, USA, under D/o Economic Affairs for three years. He will replace Rajeev Topno (IAS:1996:GJ).
  3. Hrisheekesh Arvind Modak (IAS:2008:MN) has been appointed to the post of Adviser to the Executive Director, World Bank, Washington DC, USA, under D/o Economic Affairs for three years. As a result of this appointment, his tenure as Director in the PMO has been curtailed.
  4. Anshika Arora (IES:2010) has been appointed as the Counsellor (Services) at the Permanent Mission of India (PMI) to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva under the Department of Commerce for three years. She will replace Sangeeta Saxena (IES:2001) after Saxena’s tenure ends on July 18, 2024. Due to this appointment, Arora’s central deputation tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce has been curtailed.
  5. Ashutosh Salil (IAS:2010:MH) has been appointed to the post of Adviser (Industry & Engineering), Embassy of India, Brussels under Department of Commerce for three years. He will replace N Ashok Kumar (IAS:2004:MN).
  6. Prasanth Chandran (IES:2007) has been appointed to the post of Director in Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Secretariat, Dhaka under the Ministry of External Affairs for three years. He succeeds Naresh Kumar (IFS:2008)
