Modi government effects major bureaucratic reshuffle at Joint Secretary level

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Modi government has cleared the appointment of over 33 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments.

  1. Pankaj Agarwal (IAS:1992:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure of five years or until
    further orders, whichever is earlier vice Gyanesh Bharti (IAS:1998:AGMUT).
  2. Ms. Shomita Biswas (IFoS:1988:MH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare for a combined tenure of seven years or until further orders, whichever is earlier vice Ms. Alka Bhargava (IFoS:1987:AM).
  3. Ms. Shubha Thakur (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare for an
    overall tenure of five years vice Dinesh Kumar (IAS:1996:RJ).
  4. Ms. Puja Singh Mandol (IA&AS:1995) has been appointed as Joint DG, Directorat General of Civil Aviation under the Ministry of Civil Aviation for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Shubha Thakur (CSS).
  5. Angshumali Rastogi (IRSME:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation for an overall tenure of five
    years vice Ms. Shefali Juneja (IRS-IT: 1992).
  6. Kashi Nath Jha (IP&TA&FS:1994) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petro-Chemicals for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Aparna S. Sharma (CSS).
  7. Ms. Suman Sharma (IRS-IT:1990) has been appointed as Additional DGFT, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, under the Department of Commerce for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Vasundhara Sinha (IRS-IT:1988).
  8. Rajesh Agarwal (IAS:1994:MN) has been appointed as Executive Director, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Department of Commerce for a combined tenure of seven years vice Deepak Kumar (IAS:1990:UP). Rajnish (IAS:1997:HP), Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce to hold the additional charge of the post of Executive Director, ITPO, with effect from June 25, 2019, until Rajesh Agarwal (IAS:1994:MN) joins the post.
  9. Kailash Chand Gupta (IAS:1992:MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for a tenure of five years vice Rajesh Agarwal (IAS:1994:MN).
  10. Manoj Pandey (IRS-IT:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs for a combined tenure of
    seven years vice Anurag Agarwal (IAS:1990:PB).
  11. Ms. Amita Prasad Sarbhai (IRAS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years vice Shravan Kumar (IRS-IT:1991).
  12. Ms. Nazli Jafri Shayin (IA&AS:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence for an overall tenure of five years vice Jayant Sinha (IA&AS:1990).
  13. Ms. Tarika Roy (IRAS:1997) appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Dolly Chakrabarty (IA&AS:1987).
  14. Ms. Nidhi Khare (IAS:1992:JH) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for an overall tenure of five years vice Ms. V. Vidyavathi (IAS:1991:KN).
  15. Anand Madhukar (IRPS:1997) has been appointed as OSD (JS level) in the Department of Financial Services, by upgrading the post of OSD (Dir. level) held by the officer for a combined tenure of seven years.
  16. Sanjay (ISS:1992) has been appointed as Additional Registrar General, O/o RGI & CC, under the Ministry of Home Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Anil Sant (IAS:1988:UP).
  17. R K Singh (IDAS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs for an overall tenure of five years vice A V Dharma Reddy (IDES:1991).
  18. Shanti P. Beck (IRSSE:1992) has been appointed as Additional Secretary (JS level), Central Information Commission (CIC) under the Department of Personnel & Training for a combined tenure of seven years vice R. K. Singh (IDAS:1993).
  19. Shyam Sunder Dubey (ICAS:1989) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & FA, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a
    tenure of five years vice Ms. Jhanja Tripathi (IRAS:1986).
  20. Ms. Thara D. (IAS:1995:GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs for a tenure of five years by upgrading a vacant post of Director level.
  21. Amitesh Kumar Sinha (IRAS:1997) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for an overall
    tenure of five years vice Gopal K. Gupta (IRSME:1987).
  22. Ms Archana Goyal Gulati (IP&TA&FS:1989) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, NITI Aayog for a tenure of five years vice Vikram Singh Gaur (IFoS:1986:JH).
  23. Ms G. Jayanti (CSS) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training for a tenure upto her superannuation on March 31, 2024 vice G.D Tripathi (IAS:1998:AM).
  24. Ms Rashmi Chawdhary (IRPS:1989) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training for an overall tenure of five years vice Vijoy Kumar Singh (IAS:1990:PB).
  25. Ms. Radhika Chakravarthy (IPoS:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Rashmi Chawdhary (IRPS:1989).
  26. Ms. Sumita Dawra (IAS:1991:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade for a tenure of five years by upgrading a vacant post of Director.
  27. Mritunjay Kumar Narayan (IAS:1995:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power for a tenure of five years vice Ms Archana Agarwal (IAS:1990:UP).
  28. Kumar Sanjay Bariar (IP&TA&FS:1993) appointed as Jt. DG (Shipping), Mumbai under the Ministry of Shipping for a
    tenure of five years vice Amitabh Kumar (IRS-IT:1987).
  29. Sandip M. Pradhan (IRS-IT:1990) appointed as DG, Sports Authority of India under the Department of Sports for a combined tenure of seven years vice Ms. Neelam Kapoor, (IIS:1982) consequent on completion of her tenure on superannuation on July 31,2019.
  30. Ms. Rupinder Brar (IRS-IT: 1990) has been appointed as Addl DG (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism for a tenure of five years vice Ms Meenakshi Sharma (IA&AS:1988).
  31. Ms. Yatinder Prasad (IA&AS:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & FA, Ministry of Tribal Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Ms Meera Ranjan Tsering (IPoS:1988).
  32. Asit Gopal (IFoS:1990:MP) has been appointed as Chairman & MD, NSTFDC, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Ramesh Kumar Ganta (IAS:1993:PB).
  33. Sajjan Singh Yadav (IAS:1995:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development for a tenure of
