In a major bureaucratic reshuffle the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared the appointment of over 30 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments.
1. Chandra Shekhar Kumar (IAS:1991:OD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure of five years vice S.A.M. Rizvi (IAS:1999:TG).
2. Rajat Kumar Mishra (IAS:1992:RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for a tenure of five years vice K Rajaraman (IAS:1989:TR).
3. Manish Kumar Gupta (IAS:1991:AGMUT) has been appointed as Principal Commissioner (JS level), DDA under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs for a period upto December 28, 2021 vice Rajeev Verma (IAS:1992:UT)
4. Manish Thakur (IAS:1988:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a period upto June 5, 2021 vice Shiv Das Meena (IAS:1989:TN) on his elevation as Additional Secretary.
5 Ved Prakash (IRSE-Civil:1988) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a tenure of five years vice K Sanjay Murthy (IAS:1989:HP) on his elevation as Additional Secretary.
6. Vibha Bhalla (IRS-IT:1991) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment for a tenure of five years vice Manish Kumar Gupta (IAS:1991:AGMUT).
7. Rekha Yadav (IRPS:1995) has been appointed as Additional Commissioner, CPFO, Ministry of Labour & Employment for a tenure of five years vice S K Lohani (IAS:1995:OD) consequent on completion of his tenure on February 15, 2019.
8. Ashok Kumar Singh (IAS:1999:KL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for an overall tenure of five years period upto January 21, 2021 vice Manish Thakur (IAS:1998:AM).
9. Dinesh Kumar Singh (IRTS:1988) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, National Commission for Minorities against an existing vacancy for a period of five years.
10. Ranjan Sehgal (IFoS:1992:KL) has been appointed as CMD, NHFDC (JS level) under the Department of Empowerment of Presons with Disabilities for a tenure of five years vice P C Das (ICAS:1988).
11. Rekha Shukla (IRS-IT:1989) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare for a tenure of five years vice Arun Singhal (IAS:1987:UP) on his elevetion as Additional Secretary.
12. Satwant Atwal Trivedi (IPS:1996:HP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, NATGRID, Ministry of Home Affairs vice Ramphal Pawar (IPS:1988:WB).
13. Ramesh Kumar Ganta (IAS:1993:PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary and Advisor, NDMA, Ministry of Home Affairs vice B Pradhan (IAS:1987:BH).
14. Rajeev Kandpal (IP&TA&FS:1995) has been appointed as Additional CEO, GeM SPV, Department of Commerce for a combined tenure of five years upto August 8, 2021 against an existing vacancy.

17. Lamchonghoi Sweety Changsan (IAS:1994:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy by temporarily downgrading a vacant post of Additional Secretary in the department to JS level for period of two years.
18. G Asok Kumar (IAS:1991:TG) has been appointed as Mission Director with additional charge of ED (Projects) NMCG under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure of five years vice Hitesh Makwana (IAS:1995:TN).
19. Amit Vardhan (IRTS:1989) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry for a tenure of five years vice Vishvajit Sahay (IDAS:1990).
20. Jigmet Takpa (IFoS:1990:JK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Land Resources for an overall tenure of five years upto July 9, 2022 vice Sushil Kumar Singla (IFoS:1990:JK).
21. Arvind Kumar Nautiyal (IRSME:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer in the Ministry for a period of 2 years.
22. Richa Sharma (IAS:1994:CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for a tenure of five years vice Jigmet Takpa (IFoS:1990:JK)
23. Santhana Gopalan (IAS:2001:OD) has been appointed as DDG, UIDAI Bangalore under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology against an existing vacancy.
