As we previously reported, our prediction has been confirmed. On Thursday (21.11.2024), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued orders appointing senior IAS officer Khilli Ram Meena (IAS:1993:AGMUT) as the Chief Secretary of Mizoram. He succeeds Renu Sharma (IAS:1988:AGMUT), who retired on October 31. Currently, H Lalengmawia (IAS:2005:AGMUT) is holding the additional charge of the CS post.
On the day of Ms. Sharma’s retirement, we predicted Meena as the leading contender for the Chief Secretary post. His appointment comes shortly after his repatriation to the AGMUT cadre at the request of the MHA on November 16. Prior to this, Mr. Meena served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
