New Delhi, September 2, 2026: REC Limited has been awarded the First Prize by the Ministry of Power for its outstanding implementation of the Official Language Policy for the year 2025-26.
The award was presented during a meeting of the Hindi Salahkar Samiti of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Shri Manohar Lal Ji, Honorable Union Minister of Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, presented the award to REC.
The event was attended by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy; Shri Dinesh Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and current Rajya Sabha MP; Shri Suresh Kumar Kashyap, Lok Sabha MP; and Shri Pankaj Agrawal, Secretary, Ministry of Power.
Shri Jitendra Shrivastava, IAS, CMD of REC, received the award on behalf of the company. REC earned the distinction among all Central Public Sector Enterprises, subordinate offices and organizations under the Ministry in the power sector.
The award recognizes REC’s continued efforts to promote and effectively implement Hindi as the official language. It also highlights the collective contribution of the company’s officers and employees toward strengthening the use of Hindi in official work.
REC has taken several initiatives to ensure effective compliance with the provisions of the Official Language Policy. These efforts include encouraging the use of Hindi across the organization and introducing innovative initiatives at the national level.
The recognition is being seen as a matter of pride for the entire REC family. The award also highlights REC’s strong work culture and its leading role in the implementation of the Official Language Policy at the national level.
