The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday (December 19, 2025) promoted two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the AGMUT cadre to the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) (Level-15 in the Pay Matrix), equivalent to the rank of Principal Secretary, with effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later.
According to the order, Mandeep K. Bhandari (IAS:2001) and Sanjeev Verma (IAS:2001), who are currently posted in the AGMUT cadre, have been promoted to the HAG following the recommendations of the Screening Committee.
In addition, Lokhande Prashant Sitaram (IAS:2001) and Ankita Mishra Bundela (IAS:2001), who are presently serving on central deputation, have been granted proforma promotion to the HAG. Their promotions will take effect from January 1, 2026, on an actual basis, with effect from the date of assumption of charge of their immediate juniors in the cadre.
