MHA promotes 5 IPS officers as Inspector General in Central Agencies

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Saturday (June 13, 2026) promoted and appointed five IPS officers as Inspector General (IG) in different central organisations including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Security Force (BSF) and Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).

The names of the officers are as follows:

1. Rahul S (IPS:2008:PB), serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been promoted and appointed as Inspector General in NIA. His appointment will be effective from the date of joining the post and up to his remaining tenure or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
2. Davuluri Shravan (IPS:2008:CG), serving as DIG in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been promoted and appointed as Inspector General in NIA. His appointment will be effective from the date of joining the post and up to his remaining tenure or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
3. Vikas Burman (IPS:2008:BH), serving as DIG in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been promoted and appointed as Inspector General in ITBP. His appointment will be effective from the date of joining the post and up to his remaining tenure ending September 4, 2029.
4. Vikas Pathak (IPS:2008:RJ), serving as DIG in the Border Security Force (BSF), has been promoted and appointed as Inspector General in BSF. His appointment will be effective from the date of joining the post.
5. Nitasha Guria (IPS:2008:BH), serving as DIG in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), has been promoted and appointed as Inspector General in BPR&D. Her appointment will be effective from the date of joining the post.

The appointments were notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs through separate orders issued on June 13, 2026.
