The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday (20.03.2024) announced the appointment of five IPS officers as Inspector General (IG) within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)/Central Police Organisations (CPOs). These officers, who were recently empanelled to hold IG and equivalent positions within the Government of India, were previously serving in the capacity of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) within the CAPFs/(CPOs).
The appointed officers are as follows:
- Maninder Pratap Singh (IPS:2005:GJ), who was serving as DIG in BSF, has been reassigned as IG within BSF.
- Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar (IPS:2005:GJ), previously serving as DIG in NIA, has been appointed as IG within NIA.
- Manoj Kumar Sharma (IPS:2005:GJ), who held the position of DIG in CISF, has now been designated as IG within CISF.
- R Gopala Krishna Rao (IPS:2005:TR), who served as DIG in CRPF, has been assigned the role of IG within CRPF.
- Prince Rani (IPS:2005:TR), who served as DIG in NSG, has been assigned the role of IG within NSG.
