Dr Lajja Ram Bishnoi (IPS:1991:AM) was on Monday (16.05.2022) appointed as the Director General of Police Meghalaya. He will take over the charge from Idashisha Nongrang (IPS:1992:AM), who is currently the officiating DGP of Meghalaya.
The new regular state police chief was appointed four and half months after the retirement of R Chandranathan (IPS:1996:AM).
Dr Bishnoi is currently serving as Special Director General, Training and Armed Police.
