In a key decision, the Meghalaya government on Thursday approved the appointment of Chief Secretary DP Wahlang (IAS:1993:AM) as Chairperson of the Meghalaya State Food Commission (MSFC) following his retirement on September 30. Wahlang has been serving as the state’s top bureaucrat since August 1, 2022, after taking charge from Rebecca V Suchiang (IAS:1989:AM).
The cabinet also approved the appointment of retired government officer Dr. Meshwa Tyngkan as a Member of the Commission. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, based on recommendations made by a committee.
