Mebanshailang R Synrem (IAS:2002:AM), who has been serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on Tuesday (February 17, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Tourism for his repatriation.
Mebanshailang R Synrem had assumed charge of the Joint Secretary post in January 2023 for a tenure of five years, which was originally scheduled to continue until January 2028. However, with the latest decision, he is returning to his cadre nearly two years ahead of the completion of his approved tenure.
