The central government on Wednesday (19.07.2023) appointed senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Manoj Yadav (IPS:1988:HY) as the new Director General (DG) of the Railway Protection Force (RPF). He will replace incumbent Sanjay Chander (IPS:1987:WB) as he retires on July 31.
Presently, Mr. Yadav is serving as DG, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), and will serve in the new office till his retirement i.e. up to July 31, 2025.
He also worked for the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in 2003 and was appointed as the DG of Haryana in 2019 and worked in the same capacity till August 16, 2021 after which he was succeeded by Prashant Kumar Agarwal (IPS:1988:HY).
