Mamta Rahul Promoted as IG in CISF, Posted to Mumbai

Senior IPS officer Mamta Rahul (IPS:2007:RJ) has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thusrday (July 2, 2026), Mamta Rahul has been promoted from the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and appointed as Inspector General, CISF, Mumbai.

Her promotion will remain effective for the remainder of her central deputation tenure, which is scheduled to conclude on January 26, 2028, completing a combined central deputation tenure of seven years.

Mamta Rahul joined the CISF on central deputation in 2019 as a Senior Commandant (SP-level). She was promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in March 2022 and has now been elevated to the rank of Inspector General (IG).
