The Modi government effected major reshuffle in senior bureaucracy by appointing 12 officers as Secretary in various ministries and department.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:
- Mrs Anuradha Mitra (IP&TA&FS:1982) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs against existing vacancy. Presently, she is Member (Finance), Digital Communications Commission, D/o Telecommunications.
- Ajay Kumar Bhalla (IAS:1984:AM) has been appointed as OSD in the Ministry of Home Affairs with immediate effect. Presently he is Secretary, Ministry of Power.
- Subhash Chandra Garg (IAS:1983:RJ) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Power. He replaces Ajay Bhalla (IAS:1984:AM) on his appointment as OSD in MHA. He is presently posted as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
- Atanu Chakraborty (IAS:1985:GJ) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs. He replaces Subhash Chandra Garg (IAS:1983:RJ) on his appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Power. He is presently posted as Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance.
- Anshu Prakash (IAS:1986:AGMUT) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications. He replaces Ms Aruna Sundararajan (IAS:1982:KL) retiring on July 31, 2019. He is presently posted as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.
- Anil Kumar Khachi (IAS:1986:HP) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance. He replaces Atanu Chakraborty (IAS:1985:GJ) on his appointment as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs. He is presently posted in cadre state of Himachal Pradesh.
- R S Shukla (IAS:1986:WB) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs against existing vacancy. Presently, he is posted in cadre state of West Bengal.
- G V Venugopala Sarma (IAS:1986:OR) has been appointed as Member Secretary, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post. He is presently posted in the cadre.
- Guruprasad Mohapatra (IAS:1986:GJ) has been appointed as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. He replaces Ramesh Abhishek (IAS:1982:BH) retiring on July 31, 2019. Presently, he is Chairman, Airport Authority of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation.
- Ravi Capoor (IAS:1986:AM) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles against existing vacancy. He is presently posted in the cadre.
- Atul Chaturvedi (IAS:1986:AM) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying. He replaces Tarun Shridhar (IAS:1984:HP) retiring on July 31, 2019. He is presently Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
- P D Vaghela (IAS:1986:GJ) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers against existing vacancy. Presently, he is posted in the cadre.
