Major reshuffle at Additional Secretary level: 5 officers reassigned, Ashutosh Agnihotri named as FCI CMD

The Modi government on Friday (03.01.2025) implemented a significant reshuffle at the Additional Secretary level, reassigning five officers to new roles. This includes four IAS officers and one officer from the Central Civil Services (CCS).

The Modi government on Friday (03.01.2025) implemented a significant reshuffle at the Additional Secretary level, reassigning five officers to new roles. This includes four IAS officers and one officer from the Central Civil Services (CCS). Additionally, one IAS officer received an in-situ upgradation to the rank of Additional Secretary.

They are;

  1. Faiz Ahmed Kidwai (IAS:1996:MP), Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has been transferred and posted as Director General in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
  2. Akash Tripathi (IAS:1998:MP), CEO, MyGoV, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power.
  3. Kamal Kishore Soan (IAS:1998:JH), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  4. Ashutosh Agnihotri (IAS:1999:AM), Additional Secretary, Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs, has been transferred and posted as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Food Corporation of India (FCI) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
  5. Shubha Thakur (CSS:1989), Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.

In-situ upgradation to Additional Secretary level:

  1. Vinay Kumar (IAS:1999:BH), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
