Major bureaucratic reshuffle at Centre, 29 officials appointed to Joint Secretary level posts

In a major reshuffle within the central government bureaucracy, the Modi government on Friday (25.10.2024) appointed 29 officials to Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary-equivalent positions.

In a major reshuffle within the central government bureaucracy, the Modi government on Friday (25.10.2024) appointed 29 officials to Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary-equivalent positions.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Ms. Chauhan Santa Chand (IAS:1999:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances for an overall tenure of five years upto 25.04.2028 or or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She replaces NBS. Rajput (IAS:1999:OD).
  2. Deepak Agarwal (IAS:2000:UP) has been appointed as Managing Director (JS level), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for an overall tenure of five years upto 11.10.2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Rajbir Singh Panwar (IFoS:1991).
  3. Rama Shankar Sinha (IFoS:1995:AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying for a tenure upto the date of superannuation on 30.11.2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds OP Chaudhary (IFoS:1989).
  4. Ms Monalisa Dash (IFoS:2003:SK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH for an overall tenure of five years upto 11.10.2026, or until further orders. She will replace Bishwajit Kumar Singh (IFoS:1989:AGMUT).
  5. Ms. Kesang Yangzom Sherpa (IRS-IT:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of five years upto 14.10.2025, or until further orders. She will replace Ms. Indu C Nair (IRAS:2001).
  6. Mohit Yadav (IFS:2002) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) (Joint Secretary level) in the Department of Commerce for a tenure of three years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Srikar K Reddy (IFS:2001).
  7. Premjit Lal (ITS:1992) has been appointed as Executive Director, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Department of Commerce for a tenure upto the date of superannuation on 30.06.2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Rajat Agarwal (IAS:2003:PB).
  8. Balamurugan D (IAS:2005:BH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 08.05.2028, or until further orders. He replaces Manoj Pandey (IRS-IT:1992).
  9. Ms. Garima Bhagat (IRS-IT:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He replaces Anurag Bajpai (IFoS:1994:MN).
  10. Niraj Kumar (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Ms. Monalisa Dash (IFoS:2003:SK).
  11. Ms. Manmeet Kaur Nanda (IAS:2000:WB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, with an extension of central deputation tenure for a period of one year beyond 10.11.2024, or until further
    orders, whichever is earlier. She will replace Rajesh Kumar Yadav (IAS:1996:RJ).
  12. Rajat Agarwal (IAS:2003:PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for an overall tenure of five years upto 13.02.2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
  13. Ved Prakash Mishra (IRS-IT:2004) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for an overall tenure of five years upto 31 .03.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by upgrading a post of Director held by the officer.
  14. Ms. C Shikha (IAS:2004:KN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She will replace N Gulzar (IAS:1999:AP).
  15. Sangeet (IDAS:2004) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution for a combined tenure of six years upto 12.03.2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by upgrading a post of Director held by the officer.
  16. Ravi Kumar (IRSME:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries for a combined tenure of seven years upto 10.01 .2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Ms. Mukta Shekhar (IRAS:1994).
  17. Raj Kumar (IA&AS:1999) has been appointed as Director (Finance), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, vice Shri Dhananjay Kumar (IDAS:1993).
  18. Praveen Kumar Rai (IDAS:2003) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for a combined tenure of seven years upto 16.08.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Ashish Kumar (IAS:2005:TN).
  19. Rakesh Kumar Pandey (IDAS:2003) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for a combined tenure of seven years upto 13.05.2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Shyamal Misra (IAS:1996:HY).
  20. Rajesh Gupta (IRSEE:2001) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 15.04.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He will replace Sumant Singh (IAS:2003:MN).
  21. Ajoy Sharma (IAS:1999:PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by downgrading a post of Additional Secretary.
  22. Dinesh Mahur (ITS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years or upto the date of superannuation on 31.12.2029, whichever is earlier. He will replace Ms. Veena Kumar Dermal (IPoS:1998).
  23. P Bala Kiran (IAS:2008:KL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training for an overall tenure of five years upto 28.02.2026, or until further orders whichever is earlier. He will replace Rajat Kumar (IAS:2005:CG).
  24. Anjan Kumar Mishra (IOFS:1998) has been appointed as Secretary, Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for a tenure of five years, or until further orders whichever is earlier. He will replace Ms. Vandana Sharma (CSS).
  25. Mukesh Mangal (ITS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways for a tenure upto the date of Superannuation on 30.11.2028, or until further orders whichever is earlier. He succeeds Sushil Kumar Singh (IRSME:1993).
  26. Ms. Gurneet Tej (IAS:2006:KN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade for a tenure of five years, or until further orders whichever is earlier. She succeeds Balamurugan D (IAS:2005:BH).
  27. Abhilasha Jha Misra (IRAS:2000) has been appointed for an overall tenure of five years under Central Staffing Scheme and for a tenure of four years as Member Secretary (JS level), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the Department of School Education & Literacy as permissible under the NCTE Act, vice Ms. Kesang Yangzom Sherpa (IRS-IT:1995).
  28. Amit Nirmal (ISS:2001) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for a tenure of five years, or until further orders whichever is earlier. He will replace K Touthang (CSS).
  29. Ms. Bhavna Saxena (IPS:1996:AP) has been appointed as CEO of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) under the Ministry of Women & Child Development for an overall tenure of five years upto 15.02.2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
