Mahmood Ahmed (IP&TA&FS:1993) was on Monday (18.10.2021) assigned with the additional charge of the post of Managing Director (MD) of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the assignment of the additional charge of the post for a period of three months with effect from October 1, 2021, i.e. up to December 21, 2021, or till the appointment of regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Ahmed is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Transport & Highways. The post fell vacant after K K Pathak (IAS:1991:BH) was prematurely repatriated to cadre state Bihar.Â
