Contrary to our earlier statement, Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar (IPS:1989:MH) has been assigned the additional responsibility of the state’s Director General of Police. This development follows the retirement of Rajnish Seth (IPS:1988:MH) on Sunday.
Vivek Phansalkar, currently serving as the Commissioner of Mumbai Police, has been temporarily entrusted with the role of Director General of Police, as per directives from the Maharashtra Home Department. He will occupy this position until further orders are issued.
