In an effort to give a fillip to the foreign investment in Maharashtra, the state government has launched a system called ‘Maha Parwana’ to fast track industrial permissions in 24 hours. It will enable industrial investors to obtain ‘mega permission’ through a single-window clearance system and start their operations instantly. Once the industrial unit has started, they can obtain other permissions in next two years.

In the meantime, the state government has appointed senior IAS officer Bhushan Gagrani (IAS:1990:MH) as a ‘Sherpa’ to bring more in FDI to the state.

A special task force has been formed to formulate plans and give suggestions to attract FDI in the state. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has reserved 40,000 hectares of land for foreign investors.
