A senior IPS officer, who was sent on leave by the Maharashtra government for allowing Wadhawan brothers to travel amid COVID-19 lockdown, has been allowed to resume duties. He has been cleared by the probe panel, that was investigating the matter.
Amitabh Gupta (IPS:1992:MH), principal secretary (special) home department, had allowed DHFL promoters Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan, to travel from Khandala near Pune to Mahabaleshwar in Satara during the lockdown.
The state government had asked Additional chief secretary, finance Manoj Saunik to probe matter.
Wadhawan brothers are under the scanner in Yes Bank and Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank scams.
