Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vinay Kumar Choubey (IPS:1995:MH) has been promoted to the rank of an Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). He is currently posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Mumbai.
With his promotion to the new rank, the post which he is currrently holding– which is meant for a police officer in the rank of a Special Inspector General of Police (Spl IGP)– has been upgraded to that of an ADGP.
