The issue of recent inclusion of 9 Private Sector Professionals at Joint Seceretary level in Indian Administrative Services through lateral entry, refuses to die down. Some Senior Bureaucrats, on conditions of anonymity, have expressed doubts about capabilities of such private sector individuals, with little or no exposure to India’s ground realities. A group of Senior Bureaucrats have reassertained the superiority on account of the rigorous training at various levels , hence giving them an edge over those who are direct recruits from the Corporate world.
